Manikaran Hot Water Spring - Kullu (Himachal Pradesh)

Manikaran, situated at a height of 1700 meters from sea level, is 45 kms from Kullu and 3 kms from Kasol, known pilgrimage place for both Hindus and Sikhs, famous for hot springs, according to old legend, Manikaran is connected with Lord Shiva and his divine consort, Parvati, who lost her ear rings here, which gave birth to hot waters on the bank of Parvati River. Ramchandra and Shivaji temples besides a Gurudwara are there. Thousands of people take a holy dip in hot waters. The water is so hot that food can be cooked in. Accomodation in the temples and Gurudwara are available for night stay besides the HPTDC hotel.
